Sheesh. This this is a beast. I admit I rushed it because it was slowing down my computer and making Photoshop go into brainfreezes every half hour.

As a result it's not as pretty as I'd have liked but... oh well. Also caught a typo too late so... ignore it as best you can.

The swirly background is a screen grab of whatever the heck was playing in media player at the time. I don't remember.

I think... that's about it!

Hope it helps! I'll clarify anything you need cleared up just ask!

Oh I use prismacolor pencils for the most part... there are a few random ones thrown in there from different companies but it's primarily prismacolors.

I think it's interesting that you sort of do the shadows/darker colors first. I usually do the opposite. It's neat to see how others do their art.
I also did one of these thingies a while back: [link]

AWESOME!!! Thanks!!! Wow... such technique, I never would have thought to do this...

Now I wanna try, but I don't think I have enough colored pencils. And if I did, I couldn't scan the dang thing anyway.... dang scanner that doesn't work...

There's a typo? I didn't catch it... And usually I'm the first one to notice haha...

The secret revealed! :D Did you learn this all on your own from experience or did you take a class?

I was doing the total opposite... I'd go over the WHOLE thing with a light base colour for each part, then dark parts of it. Then try to blend with white. And it looked like colour barf.

Also it would probably help if I inked the damn picture. Is there any particular inking pen you used?

This is very helpful, thanks so much for posting! I would have never thought that you should go from darkest to lightest. (white)

Also, I noticed that your colored pencils are thick I use very thin low-quality Crayola's. Could I get the same effect with those?
